Reimagining the Civic Commons Project: Pleasant Hill Pathway with Bike Walk Macon

One of our proudest ongoing projects is centered in the historic Pleasant Hill neighborhood of Macon, Georgia. This vibrant African American community has a rich cultural heritage but Central to our efforts in Pleasant Hill is the development of a comprehensive Strategic Plan. This plan serves as a blueprint for revitalization, addressing key areas such as food access, housing, economic development, and community engagement. Through a collaborative planning process that includes residents, local organizations, and stakeholders, we are working to create actionable solutions that reflect the community’s vision and priorities. The Pleasant Hill Strategic Plan is designed to honor the neighborhood’s historic legacy while paving the way for a sustainable and equitable future.

Our approach is guided by our commitment to equity and meaningful engagement. We support the monthly neighborhood meetings to ensure that the voices of Pleasant Hill residents are heard and that they play an active role in shaping the future of their community. We also collaborate with government entities, stakeholders, and other organizations to secure impact investments and design programs that align with the community’s vision.
